Poem: Faith

Posted in Religion-inspired tagged , , , at 5:23 PM by Kay

Faith is belief in the unseen.

Faith is dedication to the spirit.

Faith is living in the positive.

Faith is perseverance toward good.

Faith is uplifting to the mind.

Faith is prayer to the almighty,

power through preservation,

and denial of evil.

Poem: Keeping the Faith

Posted in Religion-inspired tagged , , , , at 5:12 PM by Kay

Every day I think about what happened that day.

I keep a mental picture of everything I do.

I notice how people act toward me day by day.

I see how humans can quickly change their ways.

One day a friend, the next day an enemy.

What shall I do?

Shall I give up totally or shall I keep living this way?

People are the same wherever you go.

You have to adjust to the ways of man.

You must be prepared to take what is dished out.

If you know you are doing right and they are wrong,

the only thing left is keeping the faith.

Poem: Yield Not to Temptation

Posted in Religion-inspired tagged , , , at 5:06 PM by Kay

Temptation appears at anytime.

It is desire for something you do not need.

Sometimes the desire is so strong.

It is hard to resist.

Mental activity is at an utmost high.

Should I or should I not?

Consideration must be given

for the consequences.

There may be a high price to pay

for indulging

in a deed.

You will have to pay

because once done,

it is done,

and there is no turning back

because the devil has won.

Poem: Second Chance

Posted in Religion-inspired tagged , , , , at 9:11 AM by Kay

O Lord

grant me a second chance

to be more positive,

to be more loving,

to be more forgiving,

to be more righteous

and to give more honor to you Lord.

I have fallen short of the glory,

participated in sinful things

and forgot about my blessings.

O Lord

grant me a second chance

to prove what I really possess inside.

Give me the strength to carry on

when I am weak

and when I am strong.

Oh Lord

forgive me of my sins

and cleanse my spirit and soul.

Poem: I Am Trying Lord

Posted in Religion-inspired tagged , , , at 9:02 AM by Kay

I am trying Lord to do things right.

At times, I know I took the wrong path.

Oh, please Lord

redeem my spirit,

calm my nerves

and strengthen my heart.

because I am weak.

Oh, I pray Lord

you forgive me for my transgressions,

evil thoughts and weak spirit.

I am trying Lord to do things right.

I plea for another chance Lord

to receive your kindness and blessings.

I will not give up my faith in you Lord

because I am trying Lord to do things right.

Poem: Love Your Fellow Man

Posted in Religion-inspired tagged , , , , at 6:50 AM by Kay

Love your fellow man

as you love yourself.

Respect his feelings

as you respect your own.

Do not jump to conclusions

before finding out the facts.

Be objective in your thinking

and conservative with your opinions.

Do not relish in other’s pain and suffering.

Misfortune can happen to you.

It is better to love your fellow man

as you love yourself.

Be objective in your thinking

and conservative with your opinions.

Poem: With This Breath I Do Take

Posted in Religion-inspired tagged , , , , , , , , , , , , at 2:49 PM by Kay

With this breath, I do take

full control of my life.

I must not let the pain of the past

overshadow my future.

I promise to forgive my enemies

and forgive myself for my transgressions.

For every day I wake,

I promise the Lord

I will make it great.

I will no longer allow myself to mope around

and feel sorry for myself.

I will rise to the good

and fight the bad.

I will love with a love

I have never had

now, tomorrow,

and for the rest of my life.

Poem: Sometimes

Posted in Religion-inspired tagged , , , , , , , , , , , at 10:39 AM by Kay

Sometimes the burdens become so great.

Too great, sometimes for the heart to bear.

In those times an ear is needed

to listen, to confide in, to console.

When that ear is not easily found,

the Lord’s ear is always around.

He is non-judgmental and always there.

Through undying faith

the Lord will heal that burdened, bleeding heart

and in time,

the burdens will cease.

Your heart will rejoice from release.

Sometimes we doubt the present and wonder why.

Life is too short for doubt and disbelief.

We must strive to always do what is right.

Keep our faith and realize that

sometimes we are put to a test

requiring strength stronger than physical strength.

This strength is faith and cannot be touched.

It is not seen and is not learned.

It is felt.

When your belief is so immense,

that it cannot be broken.

The burdens that come to pass will not last

and your life will be more enriched

not just sometimes,

but all of the time.
